"Exile and Tolerance" is the name of a week of hiking, and outdoor meetings in the Diois (Drôme) . For its second edition will take place from 21 to 29 April 2011.
"Exile and Tolerance" are strong themes of the new footpath International "On the Steps of the Huguenots," which links the Alpine foreland of the Drôme, home to many exiled Huguenots, the Hesse in Germany, which hosted about 300 years there. Memories this episode are still alive in both countries.
300 years later the expulsion and leakage of whole populations in France and around the world are still valid. The slow pace of the hike is certainly conducive to the opening on landscapes, on others and their culture. An essential basis for tolerance.
In spring 2010 a fifty walkers traveled the Diois (under the sun and snow) on the trail of these emigrants Huguenots. Since then, the Drôme part of the trail was marked International, the international work is structured, a guidebook is edited and hikers regularly embark on parts of the route.
It is therefore left for another adventure in 2011. It will inevitably be more extensive because our neighbors Mens Bourdeaux and take care of the beginning and the end of the week.
This blog will keep you informed of the preparations, additional animations (and change), carpool suggestions and menus (Huguenots) restaurants ....
It is open to all, we welcome your feedback.
